ALICE Receptionist Network Configuration Options
The Customer must ensure the necessary permissions are applied to their corporate firewall or proxy server devices to allow the ALICE Receptionist software and the associated devices to reach these hosted services.
The network rules required depend on the configuration of the ALICE Receptionist installation. There are two major configurations to consider.
Communication Options
ALICE Cloud Communications
The ALICE Cloud communication services will handle calls placed through the ARD The ALICE interface that appears on the ALICE Kiosk in your Lobby, also known as the ALICE Receptionist Directory.
Local Communications
Calls placed through the ARD will be handled through your organization’s SIP-enabled phone system. Your team must provide a SIP extension for each ALICE Kiosk installed in your organization.
Data Storage Options
ALICE Cloud Data Storage
Application data is stored on the ALICE Cloud servers. Employee contact information and other content displayed on the ARD are managed using the ALICE Portal.
Local Data Storage
Application data is stored on an ALICE Database on your organization’s network. Employee contact information and other content displayed on the ARD is managed using the ALICE Local Administration application installed on an administrator’s PC.
